The posters, promoting the forthcoming Christmas events are dotted around the village. Rather than covering these, here in my blog, I have taken photos of the posters and included them below (click on the individual posters to enlarge). As you can see there will be plenty to see and join in, as well as refreshments to be enjoyed, in the lead up to Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing the Christmas trees in the church. There was a brilliant selection last year, all with a different theme as can be seen in my video. This year I will be entering a tree for Overstrand Life, which I have been thinking about and planning for a few weeks.
On the subject of Christmas trees, the village tree has been erected on the sign garden. It’s decorated with baubles etc. and will be lit in the evenings. We have the generosity of Michael and his staff to thank, for once again funding the tree. My camera struggles with night shots (it would be okay mounted on a tripod) so I have taken a daytime photo instead.

We have been seeing pheasants, strolling around the village, presumably avoiding the shoots. Taking a rest from its meanderings, a cock pheasant perched on one of our fences, the one nearest the kitchen window. It wasn’t fazed by my presence, while I stood in front of the sink. This provided me with time to look at the bird’s feathers and source my camera to take photos. He was incredibly handsome, with so many colours and patterns making up his plumage. The photo I’ve included in my blog doesn't do him justice but I’m hoping there will be sufficient detail for when I try drawing him.
