The Strand Club

In the interest of members and speakers safety, the Club's activities will not resume until Covid-19 is under control.

The club was founded by a few local ladies in January 1996, who identified the need for an
informal club socialising in the afternoon.

The club has remained a small, friendly group, meeting at 2 p.m.on the second Wednesday of every month except August.  Our venue has now changed to the Pavilion in Overstrand which we are excited about as it means we can make use of their entertainments and alcohol licences as and when we need to.  We will also be able to sit outside when weather permits. The Methodist Church has done us proud for many years but we felt it was time for a change.  We now encourage men to join our club and actively try to choose items on each year’s programme which we hope they will enjoy.  Reports covering the monthly meetings can be accessed by clicking here on Reports.

The maintenance of the village defibrillator on the outside wall of the White Horse continues.  This year we will be supporting NARS - Norfolk Accident Rescue Service - which depends upon fundraising to continue its work attending accidents as first responders.

Every year, usually in June, we enjoy a day's outing, never too far away, and in April our full programme is posted on the Overstrand village notice board.  We always welcome visitors.

Subscription Costs

The annual subscription is £10 - excellent value - payable in March at our AGM.  Members then pay £2 (non-members £3) at the door each month which covers refreshments.  Raffle tickets are available for purchase throughout the meeting.
