The compound on the rough area, beneath the cliffs, at the east end of the promenade has been greatly reduced in size.  For quite a time, this was home to large containers, wood and contractor’s machinery etc.  The other morning, we noticed there are just a few pieces of equipment and a beacon stacked in a small fenced off area, with the remaining machinery to one side.  If everything is going to be removed then what happens now?  Will the slumped material in the sectioned off area on the promenade, be left and not cleared?  Are the remaining ‘Lego’ blocks, stacked on the promenade, going to be taken away?  Are the Council still planning to perform repairs to the sea wall?  Is Overstrand now being abandoned to the ravages of the sea?

I have now officially retired as Poppy Appeal Organiser (PAO) for Overstrand.  This morning, I met with Zoe, Norfolk’s Fundraising Manager, to talk about recruiting my replacement.  Zoe has given me some posters, (see below) providing her contact details, to use around the village.  If you or you know of someone who may be interested in taking on the role of PAO and would like some basic information, before considering contacting Zoe, then I am more than happy to explain what is involved with absolutely no obligation and I mean that – no obligation.  My email address is at the bottom of each page, here on my website, and you can also message me via the Contact page.
