The wobbly curb stone on the High Street, which I reported to Fix My Street, who then forwarded the details to Norfolk County Council (NCC), has been repaired within the Council’s six-week time frame.   I also reported, the broken pavement slabs by the loke, which leads down behind houses on Harbord Road to The Pleasaunce’s wooden gates.  I received confirmation from NCC that this issue would also be addressed within six weeks.  What I don’t know is, why this couldn’t be done at the same time as the curb stone.

The village has two new food/cake/drinks outlets.  The cabin on the car park, run by villagers Julie and Matt, is now trading and serving refreshments most weekends.  Julie used to run the café at The Belfry, where our ExWI group meet each month.  She has a good repertoire of cakes; the lemon polenta was a favourite of mine. Their coffee is sourced from the Norfolk Coffee company, plus there are other drinks available.  At the other end of the village, on Coast Road is Bonnie Bakes, this is a roadside cabin outside Archway Cottage.  We have passed this a couple of times but it's been closed, so I’ve been unable to see what is for sale.  However, there was a post on Next Door recommending the cakes plus there are also dog biscuits, paper bags and a calculator available.  Payment is by QR code straight to monzo (no idea who monzo are).

Back to the car park, where the path leading towards the pathways down the beach, has been scheduled by North Norfolk District Council to be re-routed.  Given the close proximity of the current path to the west cliff fall, the picket fence in this area will be moved further into the car park and the path re-routed through the Deep History Coast information point.

Today’s photos (above in the text) are before and after shots of the wobbly curb stone and Bonnie Bakes Cake Shed.
