We are certainly making the most of the warm sunny days. We could have done with more like these, this month. Yes, we’ve had sun but quite often it’s been chilly, due to the winds from the north and east, and there have also been a number of cloudy days too.
We have done quite a few jobs in the garden, in particular Peter repaired and re-felted the garden shed. The seeds, I planted in the greenhouse, after a slow start have been spurred on by the warmth and most have now germinated. Taking a break and sitting in the garden with a cuppa, I’ve enjoyed hearing the birds singing and seeing the bees and other pollinating insects dipping into the flowers. We have been visited by orange tip butterflies and holly blues too. As far as flowers are concerned, we’re heading towards the change of seasons. Most, but not all, of the spring bulbs have finished flowering and it will soon be the turn of the summer blooms. Now we no longer have a Garden Centre in the village, I’m hoping the car boots, which start on the 15th May, will provide villagers with a good selection of plants. They always have done in previous years and there is a good opportunity this year, for sellers to expand their range.
That’s all I have to say today. I’ll leave you with a photo taken from the cliff top, through the mass of Alexander plants, of the sandy beach, blue sea and skies, with Cromer Pier in the distance.
