I appreciate not everyone wants to be on Facebook or any other type of social media.  I am therefore publishing the contents of a recent post on Facebook to help ‘spread the word’.

The Belfry Foundation Trust

As you may know, Simon Gurney is currently the sole Trustee of The Belfry Foundation Trust. He’s planning to redistribute the assets and hand over control to those who are better placed to manage the Trust and benefit directly.

Simon would therefore like to meet interested Overstrand residents to discuss plans for the future. If you would like to get involved and maybe become a Belfry Foundation Trustee yourself, you are invited to attend the meeting.

The meeting is set for Tuesday 24 February at 6.30pm.

If you would like to attend, please message Mike Goldwater privately on 0781 33 33 020.

I have been keeping my eyes on the weather forecast, looking for a suitable window of reasonable weather, when I can clean the greenhouse.  Despite getting off to a damp cloudy start, this morning, the skies cleared around ten and it was a whole lot warmer than last week.  This was my cue to get out in the garden with a bucket of soapy water, broom, brush and hose.  It will never look perfect but our greenhouse looks so much cleaner and well worth me getting damp from the hose spray back.  The sun and breeze should dry the interior by this afternoon, when I will put back the pots and all the other bits and pieces I keep under glass.  As I removed the pots, I could see some of the plants need a bit of attention, mainly repotting or top dressing with fresh compost but this will be a job for another day.

Yesterday’s sun and warmth opened the crocus blooms in our garden plus the dwarf daffodils flowers started to break open.  It won’t be long before the snowdrops start to fade and with this in mind, I couldn’t resist taking a photo below of them growing on the edge of a driveway in the village.
