A warm weekend was forecasted last week.  However, as we got closer this was revised and what actually transpired was a cool one with a chilly wind.  Some improvement in the weather by yesterday afternoon when we decided to walk along the beach towards Cromer.  Here we noticed various bits of rubbish trapped in the grasses, that grow below the cliffs.  What we didn’t see was, lumps of palm oil, which have been washed up on beaches further down the coast.  We decided to go back along the beach this afternoon to do a beach clean.  There was a lot more rubbish than we originally thought, collecting two full bags, a black sack part full, plus a drum and crab pot marker.  I stopped a couple of times to take photos of the plants - the sea holly features as today’s photo, this will be in flower before too long.

I hope the weather is better behaved next weekend, for the annual village yard sale.  Organised and well publicised by village fund raising group, Overstrand Together, this is always a popular event.  People pour into the village in search of a bargain and judging by those we see passing our home, loaded with items, there are plenty to be had. There is however, chaos on the roads, with drivers trying to find a place to leave their vehicles.  Car parking aside, it’s a relaxed affair as potential buyers mill around the village, chatting and sometimes haggling with sellers.  As for me, I will be visiting yards to see if I can find a planter of a specific shape and size which I want for our garden.
