Cats are a bit like marmite – you love them or hate them! I fall into the love category; they all have a place in my heart from the smallest (Rusty Spotted) to the largest (Tiger). Over the years, we have come to know, each of our domestic cats have/had very different temperaments and characters; we respect them for this. We always want to do the best for our pets and when Peter spotted a video on YouTube, which he forwarded to me, I was totally shocked as to how we are, in a way, being misled by proprietary cat food manufacturers. I won’t go into details here, but if you are interested in finding out more, here is the YouTube link. This video has resulted; in a switch of foods we will be providing for our cat Sid. I have ordered some food for Sid from a specialist provider but from now on, most of his diet will be fresh and home cooked meat, supplemented with dried food to help prevent build up of tartar on his teeth and ensure he gets the required minerals and vitamins. We were able to clean Tim’s (the cat be brought with us when we moved to Overstrand) teeth but Sid is not a laid back as Tim was, so best to stick to the hard dried food to keep his teeth clean. As for Sid, he is totally enjoying his new diet; he thinks every day is his birthday!
Waiting for the bus home in Cromer on Wednesday, we noticed a new addition to the area outside the Cromer Museum; the town’s oldest post box. I was surprised to see how much of the base would have been buried under the ground. Recently, a post box was knocked down on the Norwich Road. This has been replaced by a far less solid (almost tinny) box. I wonder if this too has a similar base to ensure it’s securely fixed beneath the pavement. I took a couple of photos which I have included below and hopefully these are good enough size for you to read the history of the post box, which is fixed to the reverse side.
